My intention in creating these pieces is to pay tribute to the many women I know who are nourishers – women who give so much of themselves to their families, friends, and communities. They often serve as the steady presence in our lives and the resilient root systems that anchor and connect us to others. The lush greenery weaving in and out of the compositions and covering parts of the figures serves as a metaphor for all the growth and connection that sprout from the self-sacrifice of these women.
